Summer vacation OOO templates.

Eight summer vacation templates — quick beach week, family roadtrip, European holiday, August closure. Tone-appropriate for different industries.

Beach week (1 week)

'Hi — I'm out of office at the beach this week (so... not much email). Back in on [return date]. For urgent matters: [backup] at [email]. Otherwise I'll respond when I'm back.'

Family roadtrip (2 weeks)

'Hi — I'm on a family roadtrip from [start] through [end], with limited email access. For urgent matters: [backup] at [email]. For non-urgent, I'll get back to you when I return.'

European holiday (extended)

'Hi — I'm in Europe through [end date] and won't be checking email regularly due to time zone differences. [Backup] is handling urgent matters: [email]. I'll respond to non-urgent emails when I return.'

August closure (firm-wide)

'Our office is closed for our annual August break from [start] through [end]. We'll respond to your email when we return on [date]. For urgent matters during the closure, please contact [backup]. Enjoy the rest of your summer.'

Camp / family commitment

'Hi — I'm at family camp through [end] with very limited email. For urgent: [backup]. For non-urgent, I'll be back on email [return date].'

Off-grid (national park / cabin)

'Hi — I'm off-grid in [location] through [end], with no cell or email access. [Backup] is handling everything urgent: [email]. I'll respond when I'm back online on [return date].'

Solo founder (warm but firm)

'Hi — I'm taking real vacation this week and have my email app uninstalled (recommended). I'll respond when I'm back on [date]. For urgent: [URL] / [backup].'

With routing URL

'Hi — I'm out of office through [date]. For urgent matters, please go to [URL] — it'll route you to the right person right away. Otherwise I'll respond when I return.'
